The story was pretty flat structured but enjoyable to get value from what time you have put in. It isn't a book you would return to but a once off book to explain the empty section before Halo 5: Guardians and what Edward Buck and his team get up to.

It's enjoyable and performance was alright. If you like Halo Lore, you will enjoy this book. I defiantly recommend this book if you enjoyed playing Halo 3: ODST and wanting more story about that crew. There were a few parts that were slow and a little repetitive but the story does do an amazing job describing the intensity of the action and showing the reader the weight of certain situations.

Its a great halo book to read. The book itself was engaging, very well paced, and the narrator did a good job, even if the start felt a little jarring with their robot voice. But as with all Halo books, it's the universe building you buy it for, and there's a decent amount of potential pay offs for those already invested in the Halo Universe.
